Reader comment on item: The Pipes Rule of Arab Elections

Submitted by Taha (United States), Oct 26, 2011 at 20:25

This applies to all Third World countries.

For the First World developed countries:
If you know the result ahead of time, all candidates are crappy - you might as well do something better with your time.
If you don't know the result in advance, you're out of the loop dude.

By the way, didn't we always want democracy and "free, fair" elections in the Arab countries all this while? Wasn't that the model that we wanted to establish in Iraq after we got rid of Saddam the bad guy? The people of these countries are now throwing their own dictators out saving our soldiers and money, and espousing Western style democracy. We should want that.
