Reader comment on item: [Douglas Card and] My Day in Court

Submitted by Peter J. Herz (Taiwan), Dec 7, 2004 at 19:49

Ah, the glorious, left-wing Free Speech movement! In the 1960's and '70's, it shut down campuses across the land in the name of free speech, and made certain terms for coitus and defecation the most commonly used words in the English language. Now, when it has power on the campus, it does whatever it can to suppress the responsible political speech of not only its opponents, but of those who simply disagree.

To be quite honest with you, Dr. Pipes, whenever a leftist tells me "I disagree with what you say but will fight to the death for your right to say it," I count the proverbial silver spoons.
