End of Assad's rule

Reader comment on item: Fin de Régime in Syria?

Submitted by p. schwartz (United States), Jul 12, 2011 at 22:08

I have a lot of admiration for the courage and perseverance of the Syrian opposition. They have been continuing their intifada for quite a long time and are still rebelling. Kudos to them, no thanks to us. We in the US have stood by and watched as innocent civilians have been tortured, gunned down, shot in the streets and somehow our government has not stepped in to help stop the carnage and help oust Bashar Assad from power, which is what eventually will happen I hope, no thanks to us.
