Too many don't "get it"

Reader comment on item: Coddling a Terrorist [Sami Al-Arian] Costs Votes

Submitted by Donald W. Bales (United States), Oct 19, 2004 at 16:01

It is alarming that so many people don't get it about the threat of radical Islam. It is especially upsetting to see the attitudes on so many campuses. Anti-Semitism (actually anti-Jewism-aren't Arabs also Semites), anti-Israeliism, anti-Bushism, anti-Christianism, anti-conservativism, and sometimes seeming anti-U.S.ism. And there is still a lingering affection for Communism in spite of all the evidence that it is a failed economic and politcal system. It promises economic security at the price of political freedom and winds up not offering economic security and offering tyranny and oppression by a police state.
