moral failure or pragmatism?

Reader comment on item: Am I Helping the Terrorist Enemy?
in response to reader comment: Dealing with Saudis is Moral Failure

Submitted by larry Kosberg (United States), Dec 30, 2009 at 12:51

While I totally agree that the saudis' are a morally degenerate progenitor and funder of hatred worldwide, I think we may agree also that if that regime were to fall and be replaced with an outright terrorist government ( ie Iran, Syria ) we would be dealing with something far worse, not to mention a probable catastrophic oil situation that would be most unpleasant to the USA. Having said that, at least then we would have an 'out front' evil we could deal with accordingly. The problem with 'propping' up the saudis is they are free to work clandestinely and secretively to poison the globe with their diabolical and hateful teachings. Maybe we should let their metastacizing cancerous government be overthrown and replaced with a cancerous tumor that we could at least feel free to 'operate' on.
