Reader comment on item: Surprise! It really is a world war on terror

Submitted by yuval Brandstetter (Israel), Aug 25, 2009 at 00:26

"That the tragedy of Sept. 11 really has turned into an international wake up call is primarily a testimony to the leadership of George W. Bush. We are only beginning to see how focused, consistent, and determined he is."

The retrospectoscope shows how wrong you were about the "consistency" in US comprehension of Islam and the Islamist danger. The only consistency in US policy is the demand that Israel pay the price for Jihad in security, territory and acquiescence to world-wide resurgencve of anti-semitism. 1'500 dead and three mini-wars later we are exactly where we were before 911. Now the back lash for the inconsistency is in full swing.

No one takes the US, headed by an empty-headed appeaser, seriously. Netayahu is jollying the senior US envoy along in exactly the same manner as if he were Abu Mazen, a feckless, impotent impostor of power, while the Persian gulf is falling into the hand of the world's most murderous autocracy soon to possess nuclear weapons.
