Reality at ground level complements the perspective from academia's "world view"

Reader comment on item: Western Conquerors or Liberators of Muslims?

Submitted by Albert Edelson (Israel), Aug 12, 2009 at 10:00

As a veteran "Field Psychologist" in the Israel Defense Force reserves, (with thirty-five years of field experience), I really appreciate your article titled: "Middle East Studies - Changing for the Better".

Thank you, for this valuable, constructive insight. The people on the ground do indeed have a perspective that differs from that of people who have not had to live and or fight through the reality of social change and wars in the Middle East.
