Reader comment on item: A Dutch Fissure in the Leftist-Islamist Alliance

Submitted by Euroskeptic (France), Jan 1, 2009 at 15:13

I live in Europe, and I know all of this inside out. Yes, it is an amazing development - but meaningless.

Europe doesn't have anything to integrate into. I am clueless as to what this woman wants immigrants to actualy do, that they don't? Become gay, divorce after having two kids and living together for three years? Take more mushrooms or smoke more dope? Or does she just want them to become docile?

Honestly, Europe needs to stop pretending that its problems start or end with immigrants. I happen to live in France right now. I can tell you that the very mention of the word "moral" gets nasty stares from people around me. The notion of a "family" in the American sense, is considered equally dubious.

I happen to work with a chap, who is Black, but who is integrated 100 percent. His father is dutch, mother french. He speaks both languages. He is gay. He loves Obama. Ask him what a family is - and he'll tell you its an atavism. This coming from a divorce lawyer. Ask him what's good about the West? Nothing, except perhaps making family an atavism.

You get the picture?

So I could care less what the lady says about immigrants. the problem lies in a self-negating culture of rabid permissivness and negation, and its easy to tell immigrants their place, but modern society doesn't give a politician the right to tell native's what their place is.
