Reader comment on item: Is the Hatay/Alexandretta Problem Solved?
in response to reader comment: Alexandretta is a part of Kurdistan

Submitted by Ottoman (United States), Nov 16, 2008 at 05:40

Hey Mehmet Ali, your name is also a Turkish name "Mehmet" and you are trying to fake up a Kurdistan NOBODY knows NOTHING about. You are talking about thousands of years but I am wondering if the ALL HISTORIANS forgot you, or is it by chance NOBODY wrote NOTHING about Kurds until 1920s.

Look what is happening in the Arab world, how did the imperial powers produced ARTIFICIAL nationalism among the brothers of these lands, and how did they become MORTAL ENEMIES of each other even though they lived peaucefully for hundreds of years. WAKE UP understand what they are trying to do. O.K. let us seperate in to tinny pieces with the foolish nationalist ideas and let imperials ( now they became democracy providers) swallow us easily. Do you want this. They played this game just 100 years ago and let us give them another chance to do the same thing to suck the oil for another 100 years. It is very easy to seperate but very difficult to unite.

Look at European states even though they had fought lethally for hundreds of years now they understood that they have to UNITE, they have to leave NATIONALISM aside and UNITE in order to survive. But we are not as clever as them and they will seperate us again, because your type of people are the majority of these territories. I am so sorry to be a part of this foolish recurrence of history. I feel very sorry about you and me...
