Correct me if I'm wrong............

I can't remember the exact story but wasn't there a man who was suppose to have dinner with Mohammad who didn't show because he wanted to stay home with his new puppy. And this angered Mohammad who then turned around and said that Allah told him that dogs were unclean and that Gabriel stayed away from dogs. . It just seems like everytime something didn't go the way Mohammad wanted he would suddenly reveal a revelation from Allah that would fit the needs of Mohammad.

Was Allah just Mohammad's alter ego ?
