Belgian Schadenfreude and Baker

Reader comment on item: Canadian Islamists host [William W. Baker,] a neo-Nazi

Submitted by Peter J. Herz (Taiwan), Jan 7, 2004 at 09:32

Shame on Dr. Schuller for hiring such a one as William Baker. Then again, Schuller's organizations probably didn't look very deeply, and apparently recognized the error of its way on this one. I'm going to have to track down more web info on this incident.

Well, I frankly revel in Schadenfreude over the Belgian business (God forgive me). I'm old enough to remember seeing European-accented talking heads scolding us Americans for our racism (when I would've gotten my mouth washed out with soap for saying the n- word). The same Euro-Leftists, not the Orthodoxy-haunted Russians or the Chinese, taught Pol Pot and Khieu Samphan their Marx, too. Euro-leftism's sympathies do tend to be with those who would wage war on governments that practice restraint and, however imperfectly, have some mechanism for popular consent. Since they love the thugs when they're in their home countries, they deserve everything they get when they take such people in as "refugees" (but we've done the same thing to ourselves by importing Chinese organized crime from the Fuzhou area, by being a little less than careful about determining whose fears of political persecution are credible or not).

Then again, I can't say I admire the skinheads who are probably having a field day over yet another "refugee" criminal.
