Reader comment on item: Bibliography – My Writings on Arabs Appreciating Israel

Submitted by Susan Brownes (United States), Feb 20, 2008 at 19:18

Your contention that some Palestinian Arabs and Muslims have a high regard for the Jewish state, and I assume believe this represents some silent group or a spark of growing sanity. This would carry a lot more weight if you had more than six examples and those going back to 1994. I think I am an optimist, but really...

...

The constant condemnation of the Jews and Israel by the Palestinians and Arabs reminds me of the segregated south in its' violent refusal to cut the blacks a fair share of the pie. It was directed by a group of the financially and politically powerful who agitated the poor rednecks in the KKK to undertake the hand-to-hand fighting as they stayed above the fracus and reaped the rewards of power, control and money.

The power brokers of the Middle East are playing the same game - keep the agitation stirred up - court the semi-civilized Palestinans, pretend to care for them and respect them - give them a place at the table - then send them out to work as suicide bombers.

To the outside world pretend they are reasonable civilized men - while they rape the coffers of their own countries to live like gods. - Control their society with such iron hand that no one else has a chance to live. This isn't about religion - this is the Robber Barrons of the 1900's in Burkas!

Nothing would have changed in the 1960's until there had been a court order, with enough judicial teeth to route the power brokers who finally were forced to quit giving aid and comfort to the minions they dominated and manipulated. We need to quit kidding ourselves about who the real enemy is - how can we win a war - fighting the wrong enemy.

The best thing we could ever do is to quit buying their oil - the whole middle east would settle down in no time. If we break their bank - we break their power!! We can do this - we are Americans - we are clever enough to solve any problem if we just focus.
