Defending the hijab

Reader comment on item: The Veil Unveiled: The Hijab in Modern Culture

I am very dissapointed in what Sanam has said. I live in America and decided on my own to start the hijab. I don't understand how one person can call themself a muslim when they dont even follow the rules of it, when someone else does follow the rules and call themself one too. Obviously Sanam hasn't looked into the reasons behind the hijab, because she wouldn't be disgracing it online. What anyone believes about this topic is their own business, but it is no ones right to criticize, this is freedom. Like in America we cannot go to a supermarket naked, in places like Saudi they have their own set of rules.
