Understanding versus Literate

Reader comment on item: Pentagon Jihadis

Submitted by Randolph B. Muhammad (United States), Oct 2, 2003 at 18:29

... I am a Command Sergeant Major in the United States Army, a soldier with 21 years achieving the highest enlisted grade. I am currently in Kuwait in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, this being my second combat tour as I was here during Desert Shield/Storm. I have stated the following as a lead into my comments.

Regarding your recent article "Pentagon Jihadis," the three service men from Guantanamo Bay who are allegedly guilty of espionage does not speak that all Muslims in government employ are guilty of such crime. Many Muslims have great credentials and hopefully they all feel the same that they do not have to be apologetic for being Muslim. And it should be accepted among all literate people that people will be human, and to be human is not to be without fault. I don't ever recall wholesale scrutiny employed against Caucassian males for all the hate crimes that have been exercised in our country in the last dozen or so years to keep my comments current: Uni-bomber Theodore John Kaczynski; Eric Rudolph - abortion clinics and Olympic site bombing Atlanta; French - Fort Bragg soldier- Luigis restuarant slayings; Skin Heads - Fort Bragg Soldiers killed AfricanAmerican couple in Fayetteville, NC.; Oklahoma City Bombing - Timothy McVeigh. This is to name only a few not withstanding all the sexual predators from your Catholic priest to the common cowardly pervert on the street ....

I close my comments as a soldier who happens to be Muslim proudly serving his country .... Truth is best left with Allah; Allahu Alim (God knows best).
