To Khaled

Ever since the first recorded murder, that of Cain murdering his brother Abel, recorded in the Bible at Genesis 4:8, murder has been a tragic fact of human sinfulness, no society being free of it, and whilst you say that the death penalty is less common in Islamic countries than in the USA, is there any way of knowing that Khaled? Can you provide comparative figures. Do Islamic countries such as Saudi Arabia publish the numbers of executions carried out, if so, where can it be found?

Turning to Iran, "Iran Focus" report that 120 public executions have been carried out since March

saying that "Human rights activists report that many executions are not announced by the judiciary," so, can the number of executions carried out be reliably known?

I conclude with a report entitled "Saudi Executioner Tells All" published by BBC NewsOnline on Thursday 5th.June 2003, in which Muhammad Saad al-Beshi describes how he is "very proud to do Allah's work," saying he "doesn't lose any sleep over beheading several people in one day," expressing indifference to the number of executions he carries out, saying "It doesn't matter to me: two, four, 10 - as long as I'm doing Allah's will, it doesn't matter how many people I execute".

The fact that many executions are carried out in Islamic countries, contradicts your claim that "this has resulted in people stopping doing these criminal acts."

It quite clearly hasn't Khaled, and never will, stop people "doing these criminal acts." Men and women can't be changed from the outside in, by harsh punishments, they can only be changed from the inside out, by the grace (the unconditional, undeserved, unearned, unending love) of the God described in the Bible.2 Corinthians 5:17

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

With kind regards and best wishes
