Neither the US nor any of its so-called allies have backbones and will therefore, they will do nothing which might jeopardize the oil spigot.

I anticipate that there are only two realistic scenarios under which the U.S. will eventually do the right thing:

(1) l a new President makes energy independence it's equivalent of "the program to land man on the moon", and we achieve energy independence or (2) the Saudi kingdom is brought down by radical Islamists.

I believe that the second will happen before the first.
