Reader comment on item: Does Rumsfeld Favor Getting U.S. Troops out of Iraqi Inhabited Areas?

Submitted by Vijay (United Kingdom), Dec 3, 2006 at 15:38

The British army has been this course of action. They withdrew from their military bases from Amara which was handed ove to the Iraqis (over their protests). Then they went about policing the border with Iran. Soon , the mahdi army of Muqtada al sadr went about on a spree in Amara fighting with Iraqi govt Shia policement. The British army had to give them support. I don't know what is the latest situation.
