The lost endless war
Reader comment on item: Further on Israel's Winning Its War
in response to reader comment: Limits of Force

Reading Daniel Pipes article... one single shred arises, that is the Israelis are the good guy and must win the war in Palestine at any price and the Palestinians are the bad guy and must not only be beaten but also must be perished from the face of earth. Nothing is farthest from the truth!...

First, the inalienable rights of the Palestinians in their native land is inevitable fact, whether acknowledged or not by Israel. Second, the Palestinians have proved their strong will for resistance and perseverance against a formidable and brutal occupational Israeli forces for more than 60 years. Third, while Israel is fully supported politically, economically and militarily by the WESTERN powers, particularly the US, the Palestinians amazingly are relying in their struggle on their inherent capacity for endurance and on their unwavering will to regain their legitimate rights for self-determination, liberation and independence from the Israeli occupation in the whole of Palestine.

Finally, the fallacy of undefeatable Israeli forces had been clearly driven home by their defeat at the hand of a few hundred of Hizbullah fighters, armed with primative Katyocha rockets, in the July-August 2006 war in Lebanon. HAMAS is leading the Palestinians to a certain victory sooner or later.
