Hussam Ayloush
Reader comment on item: CAIR Calls U.S. Government the "New Saddam"

Submitted by David Campbell (United States), Sep 26, 2006 at 00:04

I spent about a week sending emails back and forth to this man. He and his brethren continue to be in a constant state of denial. He steadfastly maintains that Islamic terrorists only number in the thousands. I have to wonder then, why the estimated 1.5 billion Muslims in the world can't seem to corral these "few thousand" Islamic souls who have so obviously misread the Qur'an. Somebody is trying to pull somebody's leg.

Ayloush, born and raised in Lebanon, also maintains that the Lebanese are "free", even - his words - to the point of having a nude beach. Wow! What progress. And dispite the fact that Lebanon is pretty much under the thumb of Hizbollah, he maintains that Lebanon is "free".

I finally called it quits in trying to convince the man how extremely inchoherent his views were, and ended our email dialogue.
