I just finished reading all the rethorics written by different commentators. I am quite appalled by their approach in wishing to educate us in the sensitivities of our Moslem neighbors. Ladies and gentlemen ! Thank you very much. As a person who has been exposed to anti-ism in every sense all my life and even since my arrival in the USA in 1948. Legal immigrants, whether jews or christians have lived under discrimination by the born in America citizens . When did the born in America begin to understand and embrace the blacks, the legal immigrants from Europe ? Japan? etc...
As time went on we all learned from each other and we all began to respect each other . Christians did nor read the Torah and unless invited they did not give a hoot about what jews ate for Passover and jews did not read the bible and unless invited could care less what christians ate for easter. But now we are being pushed to learn about our moslem neighbors , to learn their history, to make them feel at home, to cajole them , to go out of our way to make sure that they feel nice and comfie even if by accident one of them has in mind to blow our heads off. Again Thank you very much . But it just takes a little more from all sides. Accept us as we are and we will accept them as they are . Quid pro quo ! Lessons about each other come later, but not part of our schools curriculums.
