Looking for a cureReader comment on item: Dr. Pipes' views on Islamic Terrorism and Turkey Submitted by Terrell K Schoch (United States), Jun 11, 2006 at 01:33 Dear Mr. Pipes, Fine article. I agreed with most of it. In my slender studies I had gotten the impression that urbanization and education (especially among women) were making slow ,but definite inroads on some of the more barbaric Islamic customs (honor murders and rapes, arranged marriages for children, the bartering of women etc.) in Turkey. should you find the time to reply, do you know of any terrorists attacks against the Turkish government, tourists or foreign locals in the last 10 years? Cordially, Terrell K Schoch Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please. Comments are screened and in some cases edited before posting. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate. For complete regulations, see the "Guidelines for Reader Comments". Daniel Pipes replies: On your first question - no, I think not. See my article "The Western Mind of Radical Islam" for an explanation. On the second question - yes, many terrorist attacks over the past ten years, especially by the PKK. Comment on this item
