Dear Najm,

So are billions of other infidels appalled. I say 'other' since you would not be considered a Muslim by those who manipulate to remove Piglet and approve of suicide bombers etc.

However, since you seem to be addressing your comments to infidels other than those of the Muslim persuasion and since you seem to be embarrassed by your fellow Muslims (understandably enough) I give you this challenge .. Go to Dr. Pipes essay (posted above this one) Finding Allah in All the Wrong Places and read the comments. Would you be willing to write ... not to infidels ... but to other the Muslims (who completely misunderstand and reject Dr. Pipes .. who has consistantly been a friend to moderate Muslims) .. and tell them exactly what you think is wrong with their behavior?

Most basically, Najm, the free world needs another Muslim explaining that Islam is 'really not like it is' like we need a hole in the head. Speak to other Muslims and reason things out. It would be especially powerful to do so ... in public ... and "in front of 'infidels' " and since, in my experience, Dr. Pipes seems to be the only one left who actually has faith in a moderate Islam .. this would be a good site to stand up for your faith. For purposes of integrity confine your comments to other Muslims. In this way, and with Dr. Pipes tacit encouragement, you could go far in persuading infidels that there is such a thing as 'moderate Islam".
