Reader comment on item: Palestine for the Syrians?

...the dream of "Southern Syria" wasnt everyone's dream. Assad was a pilot fighter back in the days. That had a lasting effect on him that eventually transpired into him taking over the government through a revolt. Much of his political actions derived from those war times and the thought that Israel was in the Arab's backyard ate at him non-stop.

There was no colonial "dream" by Syria to take or gain control of what was previously the "Greater Syria". Anyhow, even if hypothetically it is, isnt that the same principle upon which Israel "re-took" their "right" to that holy land of theirs.....
