America's Political Future is Unsure for Unsure Reasoning

Reader comment on item: A Reluctant but Unhesitating Vote for Donald Trump

Heady words to be sure; but strangely, the position of Dr. Pipes in this particularly troublesome era of dis-associative politics is not all that out of sorts with self-described ultraconservative with evangelical influences like this observer, who has continually held that no one has yet demonstrated any fully comprehensive understanding of the phenomena that is now President Donald J. Trump, not even this observer (though now some things are more observable).
So, does President Trump now deserve support for the upcoming election than he did in 2016?
The jury is out on that one. Indeed, jury selection cannot be guaranteed since the jury pool cannot be trusted. As the incumbent (defendant) candidate he does not really define the type of leader that has devotees throughout the political spectrum; that if anything, his support comes from sectors not even the most astute pundit has been able to surveil with any convincing evidence that allows his most devoted base to provide him with unwavering allegiance: he is impenetrable.
His successes are his witnesses; but even they are fragile since not all are convinced such successes are foundationally lasting; or his detractors are not willing to concede they are his or are acceptable to all. They might pose the question to the nearly 42 million now out of work since COVID 19 was revealed in fear: who will get our lives back? Before the fear struck, more people were experiencing economic increases than anytime in recent history: who will return Americans to those successes?
No one can predict this beyond that which has already been revealed. So, where does America go from here? Even before the election, forces beyond the oceans of discontent are clouding the answer. In the end, even America will not have he answer for that one; because the evidence says not everyone has their hope in America.
