Apartheid State?

Reader comment on item: Annexing the West Bank Would Hurt Israel

Submitted by Edward Halper (United States), May 12, 2020 at 16:19

Reason Six is really the kicker here. Israel is often accused of being an Apartheid State, notably by Jimmy Carter. Its defense has been that the Palestinian territories are not part of the state. Annexation undermines this defense and legitimizes the BDS movement and will, likely, fuel its expansion. Since West Bank Arabs would sooner or later be granted citizenship, annexation amounts to accepting what Arabs have advocated for the last 72 years--the one state solution. .
