Populist America does not rule the world - Neither Does Islam

Reader comment on item: Why I Am Not a Populist
in response to reader comment: Conservative wins around the world and Islam

Attempting to make comparisons between modern Christianity and resurgent Islam make for interesting debate; but for this reader, something happened that brought about a certain sense that this type of comparison does not have the conclusion that many might think would be a certainty towards who would come out on top, all things being equal.
Shari'a does not win out; but then, neither does apostate Christianity. In the context of which is more susceptible to populist thinking, both have their share of populist support and at the same time, there is a shared philosophy of one dominating the other. Neither, actually, will come from out of the delusion that one is superior over the other, for both, as described in the Hebrew Scripture and New Covenant, are able to escape the fall of Babylon as predicted.
Religion, prescribed by many pious and impious observations, like it being the people's opiate, becomes a populists' fantasy to replace the one true God with a humanist Deity leading many in lemming like fashion down the ever so wide road to eternal destruction. In that vein, using religion to color one's perspective as conservative leads to no better conclusion that one that comports to following the Quran.
To that contention, conservatism versus progressive leftist secularism leads to no better outcome when one tries to argue which American political persuasion benefits most under the current American President Trump. He did not win by a populist vote; his win was by an inspired electoral vote, Constitutional style. Neither end of the political spectrum saw that coming; and that is what has driven the institutionalist political machines crazy. But note this; neither side are going to expect the results when his influences over the American electorate are ended. America does not rule the world and when it comes down crashing, the only possible outcome is not the one most are thinking will happen.
