Putin and Erdogan: Birds of a Feather

Reader comment on item: Ankara Flirts with the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation

Submitted by Dave, Jan 10, 2017 at 21:30

Both leaders are autocratic, oppose Islamist extremism to protect their own regimes, but then exploit it to make trouble abroad: Turkish support for ISIS (in the past at least) and current support for Hamas; Russian support for Iran and its proxies. They both belong in the S.C.O.: Self-serving Corrupt Oppressors.
