Nick Berg was this guy's friend?

I am curious as to my recollection of Nick Berg being "innocently" entangled with this man.

If I remember correctly Nick Berg, by accident, gave this guy access to his email and lap top?

What do you think about it? I have always had an uneasy feeling that Nick and family were left wing (foolishly) sentimental Islamic sympathizers..
