Reader comment on item: Hunger Growls in Egypt

Submitted by Jake (United States), Oct 11, 2014 at 15:08

It is hard to feel sympathy for Egypt as their family planning is practically non existent. We in the west limit our family size in part due to costs of raising children, then we are asked to subsidize an Egyptian with eight of them? Perhaps a bit of food shortage will convince them to be responsible. Had they done this 25 years ago, there would be no issue now. If we subsidize them now, the problem will be that much worse in 25 years again. Let them colonize Libya - it is practically empty.
