Reader comment on item: Chris Christie and the "Occupied Territories" Incident

Submitted by Adam (Israel), Apr 4, 2014 at 13:03

If Christie had said "West Bank" instead of 'occupied territories" there would've been the same meaning.... Jews are using force to control land and suppress the population (a grotesque fabrication).

Equally reprehensible: Using the term "Palestinian" to refer only to Arab (primarily Muslim) individuals and groups who work to deprive Israel of its legal rights to the land from the River Jordan to the Mediterranean Sea.

Anyone who uses the term "West Bank" instead of Samaria (the Shomron) and Judea has accepted the lie that these historically Jewish areas were 'stolen' from the rightful inhabitants in 1948 and in 1967.

Daniel Pipes and other professional intellectuals should use the proper terms, and cease giving legitimacy and respectabillity to terms designed to erase the Jewish nature of the region and the State that was legally established in the 1922 Partition of the Mandate.

You are being a bit too purist here. I address the West Bank topic at the bottom of http://www.danielpipes.org/2325/palestinian-word-games
