institutionalized conflict

The West has institutionalized the Arab-Israeli conflict into diplomatic rituals. Western diplomats join in pilgrimages to Jerusalem and Ramallah. They spell out peace accords like fatwahs. Their motto is, it seems to me, if Jesus did walk on water in the Holy Land, so can we.

I imagine one further ritual to at least add glamour to a poor performance. Will the Swedish Academy of Sciences please introduce and authorize a Nobel Prize for the Arab-Israeli Peace Process.
