Reader comment on item: Should Egypt's Morsi Stay or Go?

Dr. Pipes

I also watched the news from Egypt and it is really moving to see entire families and babies and old people as well as the young, Muslims, Shi3a, Sufis and Copts as well as seculars telling Morsi and the whole wrold that he has to Irhal (read this as get lost) and if our leaders here in the US do not get the message loud and clear that Egyptians do not want el-ikhwan and Morsi to be in charge then we have a big problem

The message is also loud and clear that the US administration is supporting a bunch of religious fascists and terrorists. I also told you about this disaster with the American ambassador the annoying Anne Patterson telling the world that the administration supports Morsi and that Tamarud is misguided and should not be supported. She even had a meeting (in his private residence) with the despicable Khayrat al-Shater and then she met with the Copic Pope and told him that he should tell Copts not to support the June 30 Tamarud

It is really despicable and this is why she is called Hayzaboon or the vile/nasty/old lady,ugly/hag (E Arabic)

There is no doubt that Morsi faced a perfect storm of many disasters be it the economy or the plan by Ethiopia to build a dam on the Nile, and sectarian violence, the violence in the Sinai or the issue of Halayeb and Shlateen and the arrest of members of el-Ikhwan in the UAE and power shortages and fuel shortages and the steep rise in the cost of living

But the one issue that is most damaging to Morsi is the fact that he was arrested and put in a jail in Wadi el-Naturn during the early days of the Jan 25/2011 revolution as it seems that he was suspected of being an agent of the CIA. And the issue of his degree from USC is still a puzzle as how can a man whose English is really poor and who was a poor student makes it to USC where he "earned" a PhD degree unless USC lowered their standards or he got help to earn such degree and what does not help is that he is a liar as in claiming that he worked as a consultant for NASA who was proven to be a blatant lie

What next? I believe that you were correct when you told us that the Egyptian military is never far behind
