support for Obama

As a former FDD Academic Fellow in Israel, I have come to understand and support Israel's position in the Middle East. Can someone explain to me why so many (most? all?) of my Jewish colleagues chose to vote for Obama, given his well known antipathy toward the Jewish state? Or am I simply wrong in my observations?
