I AM SURPRISED ...

Reader comment on item: Egypt's Palace Coup

I have read your articles with great interest over the last years or so but with regard to Egypt you have missed the sinking ship that is going on. Just like Iran some 30 years ago, the military took no position for a number of weeks, just like the Egyptian military will, and then they will realize they are doomed and back the Islamists. Not to be too grotesque but in Iran they would hang them with their genitals in their mouth for all to admire. It is simply muslim history repeating itself and it seems it even fooled you. The military is finished just as it is in Turkey. I read that Suliyman already fled to Germany.

Attacks from Sinai, cryptic references to the Israel-Egypt treaty and how it needs change, attacks on Embassies, attacks on Christians, their fellow brothers launching missiles in Gaza (big ones at big cities) and this is all before they even really grab power. If Hamas is the Muslim Brotherhood branch in Gaza and they are terrorists, how come the big branch is treated with such status by the US. ?

The future does not bode well especially since the US is so missing the mark. Supporting the Muslim Brotherhood is well just wrong, wrong, wrong and still more wrong. It seems like its time to buy oil and gold as war is soon coming and it will be a big one. Iran, Egypt, Syria, Gaza, Turkey, Lebanon and soon for sure Jordan against Israel again and it was over the last 100 years and it will be again. It seems in hind sight like it is a shame that the US armed these guys to the teeth over the last 30 years. The craziest is how the US is still arming Egypt and Turkey and of course Jordan.
