Reader comment on item: Islam's Cartoon Missionaries

Submitted by myth (Germany), Apr 22, 2012 at 18:28

I am confident that western culture, the power of sex-drugs-rock'n'roll that is, will win. "daisy-dukes, bikinis on top" in Katy Perry's words. Haram-pleasures sell.

The idea of religious comic strips is actually quite old. Rubens painted lots of those in Antwerp cathedral. Paintings like that are forbidden within islam, what a pity. On the other hand, Jesus nailed to a cross will never pass for a superhero.
