Talal and Toll Bridges

Reader comment on item: Islam's Cartoon Missionaries
in response to reader comment: Prince Talal strikes again

Submitted by Edward Cline (United States), Apr 17, 2012 at 22:24

Brand noted, "Is it only by coincidence that these two universities are the two that in 2009 received a $20 million check each from Saudi Prince Talal? These were said to be for building bridges between the US and the Middle East but it appears that the bridge only accommodates a one way road."

And it's a toll bridge, too. We pay for the privilege of crossing it in the direction of Islam. Just as we, for example, pay the Saudis steep oil prices so they can buy American protection and our most advanced weapons. What a bargain! Or is it called "jizya"?
