There was a time in this country, when running around on the street with your face covered with a balaclava or the kind of face-wrap common in Islamic countries, was ipso facto cause to be shot on sight. Americans couldn't understand why anyone needed to conceal their identity in public, and figured out that "no good could come of it".

My mind has not changed. If you're ashamed to be seen and identified, you should stay home and out of sight with your doors locked. Absent that, be present and identifiable.
