Reader comment on item: Middle East Studies, Changing for the Better

Submitted by David Hayden (United States), Aug 9, 2009 at 11:33

Dr. Pipes, I'm one of those new students since 9-ll. I have a masters in history and a minor in English, but my interest has been on the study of Islam for the past 8 years. I recently retired from teaching high school English and am spending more time studying the life of Mohammed with plans to write an historiographical analysis of who this man really was. The work is fascinating; I hope to make some contribution to an understanding of what Mohammed and Islam are all about.
