Hillary Clinton's--and Barry Obama's-- political roots lie in the New Left of the 1960's and '70's. Hence, they were early on schooled in seeing the non-Western world as a battleground between evil Western colonialism, of which Israel is a part (and never mind that most israelis are Mizrahi rather than European) and noble, romanticized indigenes fighting for "liberation" (and never mind that they ended up being ruled by thugs). To such people, erstwhile clients of the Soviets can do no wrong, and every excess they commit has to be "understood" and explained away.

I think it's more telling that Mrs. Clinton downpeddles human rights in her visit to China and begs for another big loan--when it should be clear to everyone that the Chinese government never has been and is not now a friend of America. It's also telling that when Gordon Brown comes with a present of furniture made from the timbers of a ship that was used to suppress the Atlantic slave trade, the best her protocol boys can do is a stack of DVD's that can't be played on a British machine.

The woman's one of the worst Secstates we've had.
