iranian revolution was a joint effort ,it was not a individual efffort of khomeini or his party. there were 10 or 11 groups involve in that revolution , but in last Khomeini hijack them all. it was basically an anti shah movement . it is just like PNA movement against Bhutto in pakistan,which were hijacked by Zia ul Haq. these things you can see on wikipedia.
