Obama's Muslim Past

Question: even if Barack WAS previously muslim, isn't it wrong to spread all over the place the fact that he was and now he's not? Isn't that not good for anyone to spread around the fact that he was muslim once and converted out? Doesn't that make him a target?

I wonder if Truth is always good, but a bit of kindness (i.e. a small lie) is needed here?
