Reader comment on item: Troubles at Islamic Schools in the West

Submitted by A teacher (United Kingdom), Sep 14, 2008 at 15:42

I am muslim, and I have been teaching in an islamic school and I am in shock and horror at the goings on in there.

These kids are suffering and they dont even realise they are. These schools advertise for unqualified teachers, they've established short cuts through the system and many are registered as charities, even though parents pay for them to attend. I have witnessed a barrage of health and safety violations and human rights violations and dont know what to do.

I am shocked to the core. Absolutely shocked by the things that I have seen.
