If the attorney took the time to understand what Islam, more specfically Ramadan was all about, perhaps he would not pass such ignorant comments referring to the criteria for fasting. There is alot more Muslims cannot do from dawn till dusk including lying, cheating stealing or holding any bad feelings toward anyone, to only name a few. Even if these are the critieria for fasting, this comment still has no legal bearing on why Dr. Al-Arian should not be allowed postpone his date until after Ramadan. What other people do during the month has NOTHING to do with what he might do. Attack the fact, not the person, or the religion. Please lets grow up and act like professional adults.
