The qualifier "radical" should be avoided at all cost. The naive faith in the existence of "peaceful Islam" leads to fatal policies vis-a-vis Islam. The never ending "democracy building" in Iraq is case in point, recent success of the surge notwithstanding: As soon as we leave the bloodbath will resume.
