"Thus, the Tel Aviv bomber's father crowed about his son, "He has become a hero! Tell me, what more could a father ask?"

What do you suppose would have been his reaction if his son's act meant the deaths of >>>all<<< of his children? Going furhter, what if his son's action meant the end of his entire extended family. Do you suppose the father would have felt quite so much joy?
