A MEMORABLE QUOTE
Reader comment on item: The United States Government: Patron of Islam?

Submitted by DANIEL REDMOND (United States), Oct 28, 2007 at 17:47

I spoke a few years ago to a highly educated Egyptian engineer I had briefly worked with. I said to him, in regards to the strife in the Middle East, that "Of course, throwing religion into the conflict makes the violence ten times worse."

"No," said Dr. Ali, "adding religion to the conflict makes it a million times worse."

I have since come to believe that he is right.
