"Brit Suicide Bomber Kills Brit Soldier"

The British tabloid Express succinctly captures the bitter irony of a suicide bombing yesterday in Kabul. A Taliban terrorist of Algerian origin in his twenties named Saad, carrying a British passport, drove an explosive-laden taxi into a British patrol, killing a Territorial Army soldier and injuring four other British soldiers. Saad apparently spent time in north London and perhaps attended the Finsbury Park Mosque run by the notorious Al-Qaeda-linked imam, Abu Hamza al-Masri.
Comment: This murder symbolizes the civil-war nature of what is called the global war on terror; nationality does not mean as much as ideological orientation. (January 29, 2004)
