Acceptance of Israel by Arabs and Muslims

Reader comment on item: "Arabs and Muslims Will Never Accept Israel as the Jewish State"

Submitted by Jeffrey Sheff (United States), Feb 2, 2018 at 11:45

One way to square your beliefs with Mr. Kedar's, with which I agree, is by reminding us of how leaders of Arab countries, like Egypt, Jordan, and possibly Saudi Arabia itself, having learned that Israel is a lesser threat than other Muslim countries, has grudgingly accepted it. This does not mean that Arab nationalist groups will ever accept a Jewish state, only that the leadership of their states will be less concerned with that fact than with other, more immediate problems. As to Muslim acceptance of a Jewish State; that will never occur until a Muslim Reformation occurs. But, again, Israel, by remaining strong, might lessen their willingness to act against it.
