Mission Accomplished! Hah!

Reader comment on item: Reframing the Arab-Israeli Conflict

Submitted by Michael S, Jul 17, 2017 at 13:08

The Palestinian narrative may be a fantasy; but it is still used by the world's powers to kill Jews (and Druze, etc., who work with them) and isolate Israel. The doctrine is a fantasy; but the killings are real, and they continue.

The "We won!" narrative of Dr. Pipes makes me think of George W. Bush landing a jet fighter on the carrier USS Abraham LIncoln, with the banner in the backdrop saying,

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

Indeed, that particular ship had accomplished its mission and returned home; but the war in Iraq continues to this day, 14 years later. Israel "beat" the so-called "Palestinians" 50 years ago; but the killings continue, and will continue, until there are no more Jews.
