Reader comment on item: Daniel Pipes on terrorism, the Middle East and the Islamization of the West

Submitted by Nico Bester (Australia), May 29, 2013 at 21:00

The latter-day culture of Islam is to be militant. Militancy only needs to be practised by a few for it to be dominant, because passive adherents do not influence the public face of the ideology. The result is that we have to face and neutralise the militants and humiliate them in the arena of their own faith community. We also need to push the notions of idividual freedom and personal responsibility; these are very powerful personal desires in all people. See http://www.amazon.com/dp/b00c61zeo8
